Director Brett Ratner confirmed for God of War movie

Director Brett Ratner is hoping to turn God of War into a God of the box office.

Director Brett Ratner, who in the past has talked about filming a Guitar Hero movie, told movie blog UGO Tuesday he is slated to direct a movie based on God of War.

And while there is scant other information to go on with this title today, UGO yearns for an R-rating for a God of War movie. We're inclined to agree; the rating which would make sense given the game's mature themes, violence, and random sexual encounters. Watering it down wouldn't seem very Kratos.

Additionally, the GoW series, not known for the deepest of plots, would be the perfect fit for Ratner, teases UGO movie blog writer "Evil Adam."

Ratner's past turns in the director's chair included X-Men 3: The Last Stand and all three Rush Hour 3 movies.

sounds like it already sux! i can't imagine how they'll show his sword throwing/wielding capabilities in the game. can't wait to hear which actors/actresses will be in this movie.

GARBAGE.... This will turn into an average popcorn movie like The Scorpion King or The Mummy Returns... more pagan garbage !!!

The only thing worse than a video game made from a film, is a movie made from a videogame.

I agree with Voice.. if it isn't R-rated, it's not even worth a rental.
Will Kratos choose the diplomatic high-road rather than an all-out gorefest? I hope not.

I would like to see a movie made with the same as Beowulf. Cast of real actors, but everything motion captured and then GGI. Beowulf started out really violent... and there were a few scnenes that reminded me of God Of War (like when he's slaying the sea serpents)... but it got kinda long and boring after a while. Anyhoo... we'll see!
