EA claimed today that Warhammer: Age of Reckoning is the fastest growing MMO of all time with 500,000 registered players in the first week.
The latest MMO title to take on the World of Warcaft behemoth is off to a strong start today, as EA trumpeted the fact that Warhammer: Age of Reckoning has accumulated 500,000 registered users in its first week.
The 500,000 users are spread across North America, Europe and the Oceanic territories, and according to EA is the fastest-selling MMO of all time.
The title will need all the momentum it can get to compete with WoW, which as market leader has an incomparable 10.9 million users, and a 62% market share, according to MMOGCHART.COM analyst Bruce Woodcock.
So, WAR has won a battle, but will it win the, erm... War? Only time will tell.
How about it MMO fans? Does WAR have what it takes to compete with WoW?

This game is definitely worth playing, is an al around good game, however, if you dont have a dual core or higher processor with at least a nvidia 9800 or ati 4875 you will be throwing your money away..game will not run the way it should....Dont let manufacturers requirements fool you, you need much more than they say is required.

I love war. Is the mechanics similar to other MMO's? Yes it is, mainly because it makes it easier for new gamers to get a hang on it. (Why fix what ain't broken?) But I love the game for the fact I don't feel like i'm grinding to my next lvl, and the rvr is great because the game automaticly puts you to the stats of a x8 lvl if your under, gear/skill wise are the same, but you at least put up a fight. Scenarios are similar to a raid battle except w/o the hassle of gathering 25 people to help out, easy in and easy out. Graphics are the top of the line, but don't really care because I just enjoy the fact the only enemy I really need to face is the opposing team, I love it.
