Call of Duty: World at War coming November 11; multiplayer betas in October

GamePro (Nov 08) to include free Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer invites

Activision today announced that the sequel to the ninja-good Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will arrive on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and DS on November 11.

But the fun will actually begin in October when both Xbox 360 and PC owners are treated to a closed, early download of the game's multiplayer mode. Activision hasn't revealed how many slots will be available for the beta, but the upcoming issue of GamePro out this month has 12 early access tokens to give away. Keep your peepers peeled for further details.

"We are excited to share a sneak peak of Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer," said Mark Lamia, Treyarch Studio Head. "The team has worked hard to build upon the great history and foundation of Call of Duty multiplayer, and we cant wait to go online to ramp up for our November launch."

Call of Duty: World at War is rated mature and returns to the series World War II roots, while building upon the addictive play mechanics and impressive visuals of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

It's so funny how everyone who says "1st" now gets not only their 1st comment hidden, but their second and legitimate comment hidden.

Can't wait, the Call of Duty 4 beta was a lot of fun. I hope this time you can carry your stats over from the beta to the final game this time though.

Isn't that false advertising? Should it just say "Win Call of Duty beta code"?

Anyways, can't wait to get into this beta (hopefully), and like goldberg_evan said, i hope they will let you carry of your stats to the final game

At first this game looked pretty average, but now it is becoming one of my most anticipated games of the year. It's going to be hard to top a game as good as COD4, but World At War definitely has the potential to be a better game.

yes ya'll yes ya'll, give it a chance, this is like being 5 years retro where ww2 shooters were rampant, but now they have boosted graphics and better ideas. definately picking this up. i love not reading comments!

here we go again....the xbox 360 gets a beta and the ps3 doesnt..the only reason im bitching is because the ps3 didnt get a beta for COD4...and there are a massive amount of cheaters and lag issues...i hope these arent a problem
