Microsoft, Rockstar quiet on GTA IV expansion release

Microsoft unwilling to commit to "autumn" release, and Rockstar isn't talking.
Grand Theft Auto IV looking for expansion love.
Xbox 360 owners hoping for fresh Grand Theft Auto IV missions this fall might have to wait until next year.
"I suggest you contact Rockstar for comment on this," said a Microsoft representative in an email to GamePro last week, unwilling to confirm the company's "autumn" promise from a week earlier.
And despite what Microsoft may have once said, developer and publisher Rockstar Games isn't ready to say when the exclusive Xbox 360 content will arrive either. "We haven't announced a release date," a representative reminded us on Wednesday, lending further evidence that the expansion will likely debut next year.
The still-unnamed exclusive downloadable content was originally scheduled for release in early 2008 on Xbox 360, before Grand Theft Auto IV was delayed from October 2007 to April of this year.

i hope this is how GTA becomes in the future with just expansions instead paying full price for the usual upgrade.

I don't think it's a good idea for Microsoft to say that the content is coming in the fall if Rockstar hasn't decided the same. I'd love to see what the content will be though.

While it sucks that we probably won't get it this year, I'd MUCH MUCH rather they take their time and make something worthwhile.

def call bs on this one. If MS spent 50 million to get content exclusive on their console and to be released on said dates of this fall and next summer i surely think they would be outraged at this point. Or it just shows how ms doesnt care about their customers, many bought it for their console for this reason and surely the content wont be free so to be all mum on the issue is a smack in the face, hence i traded my copy of gta in already. Im not willing to wait forever for unknown potentially good potentially free or pricey content.

Pretty much the only way I'll be downloading this is if the expansion adds car customization (which I loved in San Andreas), or more missions. But if the missions are "catch this guy", "go through a warehouse full of people" or taxi missions (which in my mind would be nonexistent because some people may have chose the ending in which Roman dies.) I would like to see more helicopter missions or skydiving/stealth missions (like some of them were in San Andreas.)
