Source: Xbox 360 Arcade gets price cut AND motion controller this fall

It's the rumor that just won't die--a new source says the Xbox 360 Arcade package will get a motion controller bundle this fall.

Me too!

Me too!

Xbox 360 Fanboy is reporting that a "source close to Microsoft's marketing department" is running their mouth today about not only a $199 price cut for the console, but a motion controller pack-in this fall too.

According to the source, Microsoft will be positioning the Arcade bundle to directly do battle with Nintendo's Wii. Reading between the lines, you can bet that means more family-friendly entertainment from Microsoft aimed at the Arcade bundle, which lacks many of the features found in the 60GB Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Elite.

Additionally, the source states that the Arcade will come packaged with a 512MB memory card, the motion controller and motion-controlled mini games developed by Rare.

The motion controller "will work with all 360 consoles and will even be sold separately, bundled with an even more expansive list of mini motion controlled games.," Fanboy reports.

This new $199 Xbox 360 Arcade bundle is supposedly releasing sometime this holiday.

Who would buy this crap! I am just a casual gamer and I would never waste my money on this. If you are going to buy a system, get the best ones that are offered.

Very interesting. They need titltes to do battle with the Nintendo 1st party titles and Wii Sports. If not, it will be a failure. Most importantly, it needs to work and not burn your X360.

I am so confused as to why they would do this. Just hope it doesn't mean a whole bunch of knockoffs of the Wii's motion sensing games...

The other rumor is that it will come pre-loaded with the fall update, ie the new dashboard, if true that means the dashboard update will be out very soon. Likely a few days before September 7th
