Source: Call of Duty World at War gets tentative November release date

Activision's return to World War II battlefields with Call of Duty: World at War could arrive as early as November, a source revealed Friday.
War works in November, too
If the source over at Only the Games is to be believed, Activision's Call of Duty: World at War could be dropping in November, right before the wild video game holiday sales extravaganza.
Previously, the release date was an ambiguous "autumn," but Only the Games managed to get an extra chirpy (or possibly inebriated) PR flak to dish on a more accurate release date.
In a follow up to the story, Joystiq attempted to get more info from Activision, and was predictably stone-walled with a canned industry response.
"We haven't made any announcement about date other than Fall of 2008," said an Activision rep.
For the calendar-obsessed, November does indeed fall within the Fall months. Keep an eye out for confirmation as the summer months draw to a close.

my guess is that the cod4 servers will still have way more players way past this games release date i just dont think cod5 can compare to it dont get me wrong it looks good but ill wait and see if it will actually be good im not gonna be some nut drivin myself to best buy at 12am and be the first to get this game if this game falls anything short of spectacular then you can count me out

I hope so storm. I havent heard anything about it being delayed. Hopefully I have my Wii by then. Going to start looking this week but no telling how long it will take to find the fastest selling console ever.Hmm Maybe I should just get a PS3. There doesnt seem to be any demand for those so finding one wouldnt be a problem, finding compelling games to play would though so bad idea.

november? i hope not that would be a dumb move with games like resistance 2 and gears of war 2 coming out and so many other games coming out within the same month i might actually pass on this game its just coming around when to many other good games are.

I think this game will be pretty good. November gonna be a expensive month it seems with this, gears 2 and resistance 2. I hope they dont all come out the same week. heh
