Microsoft reveals Xbox 360 controller with better directional pad for everywhere but U.S.

If you're in Europe, Asia or Latin America and hate the D-pad on the Xbox 360 controller, you'll be getting a green replacement on October 24.

Nah nah nah! Sorry U.S. players!

The Xbox 360 controller has long been criticized for its squishy, inaccurate directional pad, and on Wednesday in Leipzig Microsoft finally revealed a solution--for everywhere but the U.S.

The new green controller with arrive with a more precise directional pad in Europe on October 24, Microsoft reps said Tuesday.

Microsoft told Eurogamer that the controller will be "optimized" for Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer series, and will be "a limited edition promotional item that is only available in Europe, Asia and Latin America while supplies last."

"Basically, the controller will only be available for a limited time in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and has been optimized for certain games that are directional pad intensive," the rep said.

We guess you'll just have to continue to slog through D-pad dependent games like Bionic Commando Rearmed with imprecise controls indefinitely.

That's some ol' bullcrap right there. In all honesty the D-pad works fine for me.

it's a joke; U.S is Microsoft's hommetown with Microsofts biggest user fanbase; expect to see a better D-pad for U.S too (I HOPE)...[p] oh, and why's it green?

That's kinda weird. I know people sometimes bitch about Nintendo and Sony stuff getting released in Japan first... but you'd think Microsoft would cater to their biggest market (and domestic market) before others. Oh well, one more reason to hate MS.
