Sega unveils The House of the Dead: Overkill for Wii

Sega today announced The House of the Dead: Overkill for Nintendo Wii. The sequel is described as "an all-new pulp-horror reinvention of the classic Sega light-gun shooter franchise" and is being developed by London-based studio Headstrong Games.

"Overkill uncovers the ugly, terrifying, red hot secrets behind the House of the Dead; the daddy of all over-the-top shooters," said Sega in a statement. "While staying true to the classic gameplay, this hugely successful Sega series is getting a new retro look, with distinctive graphics, sound, and attitude. This is the hardcore Wii title you've been waiting for."

The House of the Dead: Overkill is scheduled for release on Nintendo Wii in early 2009.

good news. I'm sure the Wii hate bus will be along any second to drop off te kiddies who want to spend all day talking about a game and system they dont want. Shocked AnAlThunder isnt here yet but maybe dad need a quickie and wont let me up off the floor.

i really like the grindhouse style for the trailer. 2 and 3 returns brought back memories from the arcade. can't wait to play this one. namco needs to bring time crisis to the wii.
