EA wants you to forget about all those duds it may have released for game consoles all those years--it's the future that matters now!

That was the gist of EA bossJohn Riccitiello's remarks to MTV Multiplayer on Monday, when the outspoken chief executive said his company is not "in the business of exploiting other people's licenses with bad quality games."

"We've been there," he said. "Most of our competitors are there or have been there. That's not what we do. We're not really after that market."

Riccitiello did not outright dismiss licensed games, however, but he did stress that original titles like Mirror's Edge and Dead Space were "better" and would be EA's MO in the future.

"I think what you're noticing is that in years gone by we haven't had as many great, original intellectual properties. There's a lot more of that this year from EA and I think from here forward."

Believe him? Are those two original titles mentioned above enough to change your mind about EA?

So then Madden '10 will be crazy good? and not just a simple roster update with maybe one added (useless) feature? doubt it.

To me EA has always been a hit or miss company. The games they got coming look promising though, looking forward to Mirror's Edge.
