Ubisoft confirms Red Steel 2 has Wii MotionPlus controls

Ubisoft confirmed Monday that Wii sword-fighting sequel Red Steel 2 will use Nintendo's new MotionPlus attachment.
A-ha! I see your Wii MotionPlus is as big as mine!
Ubisoft confirmed Monday that it will be one of the first developers to embrace Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus peripheral, starting with 1:1 sword controls in Red Steel 2.
Alain Corre, executive director at Ubisoft, praised Nintendo's announcement. The enthusiasm was in stark contrast to some of the other developers at E3 who felt blind-sided by the new accessory.
"Red Steel 2 has been in development for many months now, and this new device will help us be even more precise in what we do with the product," he said in an interview with Game Industry.
In the same breath, Corre also admitted that Ubisoft rushed development on the first Red Steel in order to get it out in year one for the Wii. Even so, Red Steel continues to sell well in spite of that fact, he said, and remains in the top 30 or 40 in every market.
"What was missing was the preciseness of the saber - and with this new device I think it will change the experience," he said.

As bad as a review the 1st installment got, I hardly see the relevance in this.

Red Steel isn't bad. I play it every now and then. The biggest problem I have with the game is that my cursor jumps arounds every now and then. I use component cables so I have no idea what the problem is. Anyways, its a great Wii launch title.

It might actually be fun if there is 1:1 motion controls. I just wonder how precise the hit detection will be in the games that use this accessory.

Even though the first game kinda sucked.. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do in Red Steel 2 now that they have enough development time and experience programming on the Wii. 1:1 swordfighting could be sick.

all i have to say is there is no where else for them to go with this game but up because the first one had mediocre graphics, controls that were not precise and some other issues. well faggots, heres your hardcore game. after all the compaining about not having any on the wii are you people gonna get this? im not saying you should get it because it might suck but what about other hardcore games which not many people bought? like no more heroes? metroid prime 3?
