Sega confirms Sonic and The Black Knight for Wii

Three days after the September issue of Nintendo Power leaked onto the internet unveiling a new Sonic Wii game, Sega on Monday confirmed the news.

According to the piping hot press release, Sonic and the Black Knight is the spiritual successor to Sonic and The Secret Rings, released early last year on Wii. Only this time, Sonic isn't searching for clandestine rings, he's trying to get knighted.

"After the success of Sonic and the Secret Rings we're delighted to announce a second title in the Storybook Series," said Gary Knight, marketing director of Sega Europe. "Following Sonic on his way to knighthood will excite players of all ages."

The announcement was not accompanied by screenshots, likely saving some thunder for Nintendo Power. In any case, Sonic and the Black Knight is scheduled for release on Wii in Spring 2009.

Wow...sonic is a knight now? This series seriously needs to die already. The last good game was when it was 2D...when it became 3D it became a flop.

Well I've never liked Sonic games, so maybe if he has a sword I'll try this one.

I have always hated sonic, some people loved it. Hopefully this will be good, the Wii can use something good right about now.

I haven't played a Sonic game since the Dreamcast days! Sonic looks right at home on the Wii,maybe have a guest apperance by Mario himself.
