LOS ANGELES -- During its E3 presser this morning, Nintendo revealed Wii Speak, a voice chat and cell phone service that will see its first use in Animal Crossing Wii.

Creator of Animal Crossing, Katsuya Eguchi, said in an onscreen presentation that he "wanted to create software where players could feel like they are playing together even if they were playing at different times."

The service would be worldwide, and would feature voice chat and cell phone integration, presumably with Wii Friend Code integration. Wii Speak will ship as a peripheral that attaches to the sensor bar alongside Animal Crossing for the Wii later this year.

the closest i ever have been to the top no big deal but at least yall get to read wat i gotta say and that is nintendo is doin the smart thing. instead of throwing all the goods into the console at one time they are throwing it in stages. folk say that they are bored with the wii and stuff will be great with voice chat look wat has come to the wii. and it will be integrated into the rest of the new games i bet just like online play was introduced. and its a cell phone service type thing hmmmm i wonder who will copy that. now watch wen its out how rare the wii will be again. but the true wii fans knew this was coming becuz wen the wii was released there was an autopsy on the wiimote and there was a voice chip in it and they said they didnt know wat it was for. guess it stills hold true that no one knows the full potential of the NINTENDO WII.

perhaps some updates could be thrown in later so that existing games could use it in the future (i.e smash bros, mario kart, medal of honor and others) now that'll rectify this! also did anyone hear the part that THIS IS ONLY HALF OF WHAT THEY CAN SHOW at e3, so expect other announcements elsewhere later on!

...You know I can do what this Animal Crossing does already by playing the DS one and then CALLING my friends... I'm so annoyed right now.
