Microsoft says Xbox 360 will outsell PS3 worldwide

With no mention of the market-leading Wii, Microsoft today said the Xbox 360 would outsell its HD rival, the PlayStation 3.
The 360 has lost momentum, so can it stay ahead of PS3?
"Xbox 360 will sell more consoles worldwide this generation than PlayStation 3," said Don Mattrick, senior vice president of Microsoft's Xbox division, during the company's E3 press briefing on Monday.
In addition to its one year availability head start over PS3, Microsoft said the following upcoming games will be more than enough for the Xbox 360 to retain the lead: Gears of War 2, Resident Evil 5, Fable 2, Fallout 3, a two month timed-exclusive for Rock Band 2, and the newly announced port of Final Fantasy XIII.
Currently, Microsoft has sold an estimated 20 million Xbox 360s worldwide, compared to Sony's 14 million PS3s, and Nintendo's 28 million Wiis.

I really don't care who sells more, but if they play their cards right and don't FCK up anymore, then I can see it, but either way it's a pretty even race.

the only thing that surprised me was the ff13 going multi platform, that disappointed me (Keep in mind i own both counsels) because i was hoping it was going to be a huge game (50gigs of information on a blu-ray drive) and will now be downsized to 9 gigs, but i'm sure it will still be a good game was just looking for another large game to try and press the ps3's limits a bit. Other than that i think that sony needs to have some good exclusives in line since they just lost one. But hey it happens to alot of great games, like bioshock porting to the ps3 etc.

Sire its not a old line it still happens, if it were old it wouldnt be mentioned anymore and people still get it, if the new model 60 gig hits rrod they will be in some deep shit, cause then I have to wait yet again till they fix it to go buy one.

actually i agree with Goofball1. given its BEEN an issue for so long......they NEED to focus way more attention to erase this issue for good, otherwise they are just raving about being the #1 piece of shit system in the world.....from a quality perspective anyway.

wouldnt be so sure microsoft. Resident Evil has a sort of history with Playstation; i think itll do pretty well on PS3. plus Fallout 3 is also on PS3, even with your exclusive content i dont think thatll matter much. and seriously, there is no way in hell that i am going to give up so many years of gaming with FF on PS1 and PS2 to just go to 360 when i can still get it on Playstation. no way in hell. never. and besides; with the "success" that was Final Fantasy 11 on Xbox 360, i'm sure you 360 fanboys have something to look forward to (/sarcasm). i'll just wait for versus.

When the hell did i ever say this before? And what i said is true. I may prefer the Xbox360 over my PS3 however i am not a blind fanboy of either system to know when it has issues. Maybe Sire you need to take those rose colored glasses off sometime. Until the new Jasper chips are released and RROD is no more, Then MS NEEDS to focus on fixing the issue at hand. End of story. Its the system with the best games out, however with the shittiest hardware. FACT.
