Final Fantasy XIII confirmed for Xbox 360 'at launch'

Microsoft just scored a coup for the ages at E3: Final Fantasy XIII is coming to the Xbox 360 at the exact same time as the PS3 version.

At E3 today, reps from Microsoft and Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy XIII will launch on the Xbox 360.

Additionally, the much-anticipated RPG will launch on the Xbox 360 alongside the PlayStation 3 version, which until today was an exclusive to that system.

There was no word on when, exactly, that release is going to be, but sometime in 2009 is a distinct possibility. This is quite a coup for Microsoft, who has lusted after Sony's aging lineup of exclusive triple-A games, and represents a stinging blow to Sony's PlayStation 3.

Unbelievable, nobody can say now that the 360 isnt the platform for RPG fans. I feel so stupid now I paid $500 for a ps3 just to be able to play this game in the future.

Good news now everyone can play FFXIII. I'm still getting the PS3 version though.

...i almost shtted myself when i saw this on G4....I am happy that i am decided to go the Wii60 route. Anyone who says Microsoft is gonna lose to Sony is dumb for right now, still gotta see what Sony has to offer. However I am a Nintedo fan so I am waiting fo them, BUT until then. 360 Bitches!!!!

seriously, now considering how long it's been showcased and delayed, most people bought the PS3 to play this game 2 years ago, and now that it's finally coming out, they find out they didn't need to buy the PS3 for this game at all. The PS3 has been just a series of promises and blunders, every game has seen multiple delays, nothing releases on time, and by the time it does, it's on the 360 as well. I was starting to warm up to the PS3, but now I'm regretting my purchase, even though it was only $200 haha
