Fantasy football--literally--comes to several platforms this fall with Games Workshop's Blood Bowl franchise.
Like football, with death and maiming
The rendered trailer for Games Workshop's Blood Bowl game has hit the net this week, showcasing the fantasy wargaming company's take on the game of football.
In a word or two, it's elves, orcs and dwarfs playing football, with a little death and dismemberment built in for good measure. The official trailer is below.
Based on Games Workshop's cult classic board game of the same name, Blood Bowl will arrive on the Nintendo DS, PC, PSP and Xbox 360 this fall, according to Wired.. What, no motion-controlled skull crushing?

This reminds me of the old combat sports games, which were pretty darned fun. I'm still holding out hope for a combat chess remake.

I think a convict Blitz the league would be better. with all the football convicts like OJ Simpson, Marshawn Lynch, Ray Lewis, Adam Jones, and Bill Romanowski. Now that is a game i would buy

I loved the board game back in the 80's. This can be promising if they do it right
