Streaming Crysis on a crappy laptop is crazy!

Thanks to some aspiring software, gamers can now stream demanding graphics to dated computers, but they won't really be able to play them (yet).

In a Friday column that examines remote video game play on secondary computers, senior PC World writer Darren Gladstone used SteamMyGame to play Crysis on a ridiculously small and underpowered laptop. The result?

"Remote-access software is nothing new," he says, describing the same technology that powers StreamMyGame. "Trying to play games over a remote connection, though, is another story. All sorts of latency issues stop you from getting the instantaneous reactions required."

But the graphics work! And Gladstone says software makers are getting there. "Until then," he concludes, "it's back to hand cramps and Crysis hunched over a mini-laptop in my apartment. What I do for my art."

Yeah...its like slingbox. Not that exciting until you solve the latency issues.

wariomangreat123 Posted at: 06/20/08 at 5:23 PM PST It is crazy to try to do that and screwing up your computer.
Nothing to worry about Wario. The PC that is running the game is doing all the work. The only way anyone could screw up the computer is if they hacked the site and backdoor'd your computer. it really no different than me working on my inlaws computer without leaving my house.
