Tomb Raider: Underworld confirmed for November

Eidos on Friday confirmed a November release for Tomb Raider: Underworld, with pair of new screens and a glimpse at the story.

Sharks are related to dinosaurs, right? Kill 'em all, Lara!

In addition to a more specific release month, Eidos detailed a slightly familiar story; one where unleashed evil could doom society.

"Tomb Raider: Underworld represents an advancement in exploration-based gameplay," the company said in statement. "Using every weapon in her arsenal -- from her signature dual guns and expanded kit of archaeological tools to her own physical prowess and the environment itself -- Lara Croft leads a quest that circles the world to uncover the secrets of the Norse underworld and a forgotten power, that if, unleashed could lay waste to all civilization."

Tomb Raider: Underworld launches November 2008 for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PS2 and PC. We'll have a preview in the not to distant future.

Enough tomb raider already, that franchise is done and has been done. The only good one was the first.

I like these games. I just think they're too short. I don't want an Zelda Twilight Princess adventure, but neither do I want a game I can beat in 3 days. I hope Eidos can expand the exploration in this game as they say.

Their going to have to reinvent this series for it to ever have the praise it use to.

The series have become a dinosaur. They have lost the charm they used to have due to the fact that they did nor evolve the genre accordingly. I'm sorry, but to me right now the new bar for exploration games has been set with "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune". One aspect that I liked from Uncharted when compared to Tomb Raider is the fact that you're not completely alone in the jungle (which is more realistic) and the fact that it had a sort of cinematic flair to it (to a certain degree, it reminded me of an "Indiana Jones" movie, so I was compelled to see what happened next). Take note Eidos.
