EA revealed today the system specifications for the hyped and oft delayed life sim from Will Wright, Spore.

If you're running Windows Vista, you'll need an additional 256 MB of RAM, but otherwise Windows XP and Vista have the same requirements:

  • 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
  • 512 MB RAM
  • A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
  • At least 6 GB of hard drive space

As we have reported in the past at GamePro, Spore will launch September 7. The Spore Creature Creator is set to arrive later this month.

Hey, that's pretty reasonable. Even my almost 4 year old PC can run it. Nice to know that the game won't need a supercomputer to be able to run properly.

Ok, dumb question, but what is Pixel Shader 2.0 support. I know about directx, my son in really looking forward to this game, myself not so much, if it is not on the 360 and using a gun, it has limited appeal to me. I play other games, but I like best FPS
