UPDATE: Metal Gear Solid IV review hits at 12:01am Thursday

Metal Gear Solid IV is almost here, and GamePro's spoiler-free review will go live at 12:01am Wednesday night.

UPDATE: "Metal Gear Solid 4 is a masterpiece." Read the MGS4 review now!

UPDATE: Hey guys, senior editor Sid Shuman here. So due to a little mix-up, our scheduled Metal Gear Solid 4 review will be going live tonight at 12:01am late Wednesday night at 12:01am. I'd love to say that there's a scandalous, salacious, or surreptitious reason behind the change, but the truth is a lot more pedestrian -- I spaced on the date. To review MGS4 early, the game sites agreed to run their MGS4 reviews on a certain date...which turned out to be June 12th, not June 10th. And like a damn fool, I threw out the official paper weeks ago and trusted my creaky old memory. Lose!

But the good news is that we're taking the extra time to make sure that our Metal Gear Solid 4 review is the best on the 'net. And as planned, GamePro's review will contain no spoilers, so you can read it safely without blowing the game's many secrets. Check back late Wednesday night to read our full review -- you won't regret it! Now get some sleep, soldier. You're going to need it...

Original story follows:

Like little children waiting for Christmas morning to arrive, gamers the world over have been eagerly awaiting the release of what is, without a doubt, the biggest PS3 title of the year. On Thursday, June 12th, Metal Gear Solid IV will land on store shelves and the gaming world will never be the same.

But you don't have to wait until Thursday to get started on your journey through Hideo Kojima's latest magnum opus. The explosive fun starts tonight at 12:01AM Pacific Standard Time when we will unveil our in-depth review of the latest chapter in the epic Metal Gear saga.

We'll have an exhaustive and most importantly SPOILER-FREE review of MGS IV along with tons of screenshots and some eye-popping videos. It's the perfect way to get yourself geeked up for Thursday. So point your browsers to GamePro.com after 12:01am Pacific Standard Time.

Snake takes aim at GamePro editor Sid Shuman for spacing on the date.
