Call of Duty: World at War details spill: WWII, Co-op

Multiple online reports sourcing July issues of Official Xbox Magazine and Games(TM) reveal that Call of Duty 5 will be called World at War and return to 1940s fascism.

According to the upcoming issues, Call of Duty 5 will now be known as Call of Duty: World at War. The shooter is being developed by Treyarch, the team responsible for Call of Duty 3, and is built using the impressive Call of Duty 4 game engine.

Though unofficial, the reports confirm that World at War will return to the oft-used WWII setting (this time in the Pacific), and that 2-4 person online co-op will be supported. Additionally, 16-person online multiplayer using the same level-up (aka Perk) system found in Call of Duty 4 will return.

According to Treyarch, World at War will be the "darkest" Call of Duty yet. The Xbox 360 is the lead development platform, and the Wii version is said to look much closer to Call of Duty 4 than one would believe, in addition to supporting the Zapper peripheral.

Call of Duty: World at War is scheduled for release this fall for Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, DS, PS2, and PC. Infinity Ward, the developer behind Call of Duty 4, has reportedly begun working on Call of Duty 6 the next Call of Duty. The conflict continues...

Information from Maximum Fear, Next-Gen, and VG247 was used in this report.

COD6 is the one to wait for unless you want to still fight in WW2. I'll pass on that one.

If the Wii version has online multiplayer as well as co-op, and the graphics are good quality for a Wii game that will be the version to get.. the remote is sooo much better than dual analog for aiming it's not even funny

I don't know why people bitch and whine about WWII shooters......you get a lot of them yes, but how many actual GGOD ones do you get? And the people complaining probably don't even play Call of Duty games, and just because it jumped to Modern Warfare they jump on the bandwagon.....and now they complain about WWII. STFU.
