Report: Younger gamers play more 360, older gamers play more PS3

How much time do gamers spend playing Xbox 360, Wii, and PS3? A Nielsen consumer report takes a crack at the answer with a new technology called "polling."
According to Nielsen respondents (via IGN), gamers between the age of 10-26 spend most their time playing Xbox 360 by 63 percent, followed by 25 percent total console time playing Wii, and 12 percent playing PS3.
Conversely, gamers 27 and older speand a majority of their console time on PS3 by 52 percent, followed by Wii with 28 percent, and Xbox 360 at 20 percent.
In both demographics, both Xbox 360 and PS3 were played more consistently than Wii and for longer periods of time, supporting the widespread belief that Nintendo's latest console is lacking in deep, entrenching games.
In any case, suffice it to say that gamers love consoles.

You know what keeps me from actually buying an Xbox? The fact that I have to pay for Xbox live. Sure it might have a good interface. And there are a lot of games that I would love to play on the Xbox. But good lord, the way the economy is. I am not swimming in money to buy 2 consoles, buy a 60 dollar game, then have to pay for the online play! Which is where most of my attention gets drawn to. If Xbox would get rid of the internet fee. I would gladly pick one up in a heartbeat. Then I would have the best of both worlds! But until then, playing in Sony's world is just fine:)

umm gamepro just got the artical, think about it you put your age in computers im sure if they got the age groups from the companys then it would probably be a fact

Well maybe its because the 360 is cheaper so more kids have them. Maybe I'm just lucky so far but I dont come across too many young kids when im on XBL. Of course I dont play prob as much as others online. I have yet to really get involved in PS3s online service at all.
