Tecmo Bowl, sans Bo Jackson, tackles Wii in 2009

Tecmo will complete the Nintendo trifecta with Tecmo Bowl on Virtual Console, DS and Wii by 2009.

Tecmo Bowl is already available for the Wii Virtual Console, and there's a redesign slated for the DS too, but on Tuesday Tecmo saw fit to announce that another update is heading to the Wii.

The DS version is called Tecmo Bowl Kickoff, and comes out this fall. The unnamed Wii game is slated to hit the Wii sometime in 2009, Tecmo reps said Tuesday, but very little else is known about the mystery title at this time.

Depending on its size and scope, this could be a pretty solid WiiWare title. If there's room for it on Wii hard drives by that time, anyway.

Who remembers the Bo Jackson handheld game that you could hold one way and play baseball and then flip it over and play football? Ahhh good times.

So why even buy a new console? If the old version of every game works just stick with the nes for good. Play metal gear that way cause its the same, play FF on nes cause its the same game. Really if you think they are all the same you have no reason to even enter this gen of gaming.

Tecmo Bowl for the Wii, hmmmm? Why stop there? Lets see Bo Jackson Baseball or Jordan vs. Bird Basketball. Lets do a crossover, Punch Out for the Wii with Mario characters? That will get the wiiboys heart pumping! I swear , Wii gets all the good games me, I have to play Tecmo Bowl on NES or SNES. Damn!
