Capcom delays Bionic Commando Rearmed

The message was delivered with ingenious aplomb, but it still couldn't blunt our disappointment: Bionic Commando Rearmed has been delayed.

Bionic Commando rearmed

Say it ain't so, Super Joe!

It appears as though even remade classics can get delayed, as Capcom today announced that Bionic Commando Rearmed would not meet its scheduled May release date.

The unfortunate delay was delivered via the classic Bionic Commando communicator (wiretapping was disabled). When activated, the communicator displays a generic army grunt who informs readers that:

"This is MA-1. Sir, we know you've been waiting to get your hands on the finished Bionic Commando Rearmed, but it appears we've run into a few problems in the closing stages. I regret to inform you that we have received confirmation that the game won't be making its scheduled May release. This is the hardest part of any battle, sir. All we can tell you is that the game is done and is more awesome than pure liquid awesome sir!"

The message continues on, saying troops are battling "bugs and submission procedures."

For all its ingenuity, the message neglects to mention a new release date.

THE VERDICT by Jack Loftus Jack Loftus's Avatar The lack of a new release date for this anticipated retro remake title is too bad. Hopefully it's sooner, rather than later (like Haze, for example). Here's also hoping Capcom keeps things simple with this title, and that the delay isn't due to development spiraling out of control as part of an effort to pack more features and clutter into this simple, yet effective, title.

I didn't even know that the game was due this month. I remember playing the first one on my NES. Good times.

Oh well that's money that will be allocated for use on another game. Capcom get with the program. How long is it really going to take to re-make a retro game?

Sire

I trust that Capcom is doing the right thing. . . Let's hope it's a good game.
