Just a day before the service launches, sources claim six titles to highlight the debut of Nintendo's downloadable WiiWare service.
Your life as a king could start as soon as tomorrow.
Two sources this weekend offered insight into Nintendo's WiiWare launch scheduled for Monday, May 12, one going so far as to provide a list of the games to accompany the debut of the downloadable games service. A wee list of six games were named: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, Pop, Lost Winds, Defend Your Castle, TV Show King, and VIP Casino: Blackjack.
Nintendo enthusiast website Virtual Console Reviews posted a press release purportedly drafted by the console company, claiming it to be an advanced draft of an announcement to come Monday morning. Representatives for Nintendo couldn't be contacted for confirmation due to their offices being closed for the weekend.
Along with enumerating the titles slated for release, the press release lists specific pricing for each game. Living like a king doesn't come cheap: Square Enix's title rings up at a pricey 1500 Wii Points ($15). Fortunately, you can get your royal kicks for a third the cost with Defend Your Castle clocking in as the cheapie at only 500 Wii Points ($5). At 1000 Points are Lost Winds and TV Show King, while 700 Points will get you Pop or VIP Casino: Blackjack.
A source close to Gameloft, however, did confirm their WiiWare title TV Show King would launch with the service on Monday. Due to Nintendo's approval process, an official announcement is being held until tomorrow morning.
Final confirmation of Nintendo's WiiWare launch list won't come until tomorrow, when the service goes live. Unceremoniously late to be certain, but considering Nintendo used the same belated announcement tactic for the launch of Virtual Console it isn't all that surprising. Truth be told, you'll probably be living the life of a king before Nintendo makes an official statement.

Nintendo has done it! The only thing I want now is Wii demos. I would love to play Disaster: Day of Crisis before it comes out. Also, doesn't it seem like Nintendo has become the peripheral king: Wii Classic controller, Wii Shotgun, Wii Zapper, Wii Nerf gun, Wii Balance Board, Wii Bat, Wii golf club, Wii tennis racket, ........................

Um...jellebeans...you're a little late to the party with the whole Wii /virus thing. Everybody has been saying that for months, not to mention the article interview with a big game publisher who said the same thing. And if you dislike your Wii so much, why on Earth would you buy 20 games for it??? I know plenty of people who love their new Nintendo and play it daily...and they only own four or five games! Maybe you should go with the quality, not quantity theme?
