Reports: Grand Theft Auto 4 set to beat Halo 3

BREAKING: People like to buy Grand Theft Auto IV (!!)

"I'll drop a Master Chief like a bag of dirt."

According to a report published on Thursday by Hitwise, a firm that monitors internet search traffic, Grand Theft Auto IV is expected to "handily" outsell Halo 3 as one of the biggest video games in recent memory.

Pre-launch searches for "Grand Theft Auto 4/IV" overtook those for Halo 3 by 22 percent, which historically equals greater sales, says Hitwise. Further corroborating the findings is a new estimate by VG Chartz released today, which reports that Grand Theft Auto IV sold an impressive 4.2 million worldwide copies on Tuesday.

In fairness, Halo 3 (was and) is available for only one console, the Xbox 360, compared to Grand Theft Auto IV, which is available for both 360 and PlayStation 3. Suffice it to say both games have done very well, thank you.

THE VERDICT by Blake Snow Blake Snow's Avatar Though expected being a multiplatform game, it's fascinating to watch the mainstream world stop, take notice, and even compare the sales of our favorite little hobby. Oh, and I think Niko is one of the most likable hero/anti-heroes I've ever played. He's too funny.

Oh really, they broke halo 3 records wow, so cool, lol, I wonder how they did it? This isn't news, A game on 2 platforms vs a game on one. If it didn't beat it, then it would have been news, Why compare? I think Gamepro is putting this out for flame bait , I could be wrong, but i doubt it. lol

of course ... i was expecting some groundbreaking game ... same as the others exept better grafics and OMG UR RUSSIAN !! or watever the hell he tells himself he is ... multiplayer is average ... but jesus ur a gangsta i HAVE TO GET THIS GAME ... the anger consumes me

good it should beat out halo3 because it has a deep online and deep offline something more games need to have

...2 over-hyped game but this one takes the bacon cause its a PS360 platform & no mountain dew to boot.
