God of War 3 team hiring 'online gameplay' developer

A new PlayStation.com job listing posted on Tuesday suggests that Kratos' next adventure on PS3 will feature at least some kind of online play, as is the growing trend with most modern games.

The nascent job listing seeks an "online gameplay programmer" to join "the team behind the critically acclaimed God of War and God of War II." While it would mark a first for the series, online play is increasingly becoming a standard for many high-profile games.

God of War 3 was quietly announced for PS3 in late 2007. In February, the PSP booklet for God of War: Chains of Olympus said the third console game would be "coming soon" to PS3, unofficially expected in 2009.

Online play? Hmmm Co-op? I can't really imagine how a deathmatch mode would work... Either way it's good news to me.

Damn how's this gonna work? This has strictly always been a 1player game. Hmmm..........

don't care much about the online play, just want GoW3 to be as good if not better than GoW1-2. I don't ask for much.

I don't like these types of games, but online play for GOW sounds interesting...

Lets remember folks this is only a job listing but it is some type of lead i guess. My personal opinion is if God of War 3 does end up having some type of online component it better be flawless and perfect. Come correct or don't come at all.
