Grand Theft Auto IV assaults the Internet!

Rockstar headlines dominated video game coverage on Monday, a day before the highly anticipated GTA IV hits retail on Tuesday, April 29.

In addition to questions of which version is the definitive experience, the Internet blew up with coverage of Grand Theft Auto IV today.

First things first, GTA 4 is currently the highest rated game on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 . Just how did Rockstar seemingly pull off the near flawless feat of meeting everyone's expectations? 100 million dollars and three and a half years of work, said Lesie Benzies, the game's producer.

Early collective reviews are so appealing, in fact, that Take-Two's stock already jumped in price, according to Reuters. And now Iron Man may have to worry about box office receipts this weekend as gamers stay home to commit fictional felonies.

In any case, GTA coverage will likely dominate gaming headlines for at least another week. If that makes you a sad gaming panda, there's always the enjoyable Mario Kart Wii, which also launched this week.
