Guitar Hero 3 hack takes the fun out of gaming and wins

Fueled by a father's desire to outplay his 16-year old son, the AGH1000 was born, which takes cheating to a whole new level.

"I knew the only way I was going to beat my son Alex at Guitar Hero was to cheat," writes Michael, who plays at the "medium" skill level, while his son plays on "expert."

In an attempt to regain his fading dignity, Michael decided to invest several months developing the "Auto Guitar Hero" rig, which uses custom software and a tweaked controller to post near flawless scores of any song featured in Guitar Hero III for Wii.

The system, dubbed AGH1000, plugs directly into the composite video output of the Wii and decodes the video of incoming notes on the fly. The current version of the software isn't perfect -- it blows a note or two here and there due to a minor programming glitch.

Still, the result is more than enough to melt his son's face off and post mega high scores. It just doesn't look like fun.

Why would you wanna do that? That's dumb. Takes the fun and challenge right out the door.

from one grown ass man to another, that is just pathetic and you seriously need to evaluate your life if that's how you regain your dignity.
