Enterbrain retracts DS Lite redesign prediction (sorta)

Amid swelling speculation, the Japanese game mag publisher distanced itself from any possible E3 announcements to be made by Nintendo.

"The possibility exists that an announcement will be made this summer regarding a new model of Nintendo DS," Enterbrain said on Thursday. "However no such announcement or statement was made by president Hirokazu Hamamura."

Last Friday, Bloomberg quoted Hamamura as saying Nintendo might announce a new DS Lite model this July.

Yesterday, Nintendo categorically denied the murmurings. "We cannot comment on the specifics of what will be announced at E3," an official said, "but at the very least there won't be anything like what Mr. Hamamura suggested, so would like to clearly deny this."

OK, so yesterday they officially denied it, but today they say it's a possibility. Get ready for a new DS model at E3. Or maybe they deny a DS redesign because they'll announce the successor? DS2? I guess we'll find out in due time.

if the ds redesign is in fact true is logic they'll deny it. it would affect their current ds sales, 'cause people will hold in buying one until the new model arrives...
