EA Sports president Peter Moore confirms that Madden game will not be coming to PC due to "very serious business challenges" in PC gaming.

"We knew that our decision to not develop this year's Madden for the PC would be an unpopular decision in some circles," said Moore in a blog post on Tuesday.

"The PC presents some very serious business challenges to us in the sports category, particularly because so many of you all are playing your favorite sports games on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii," he added.

The announcement marks the first time that EA's biggest game will not be coming to PC, a sign of the waning popularity of the platform when it comes to gaming.

In February, the PC Game Alliance was formed to combat low game sales and rampant piracy. Notable member companies include Intel, Activision, AMD, Dell/Alienware, Epic Games, Microsoft and Nvidia.

"We are committed to shipping a limited number of our games on the PC this year, but we've also had to cut a few of our games from the platform," concluded Moore. "We do have ideas for how to revitalize the PC for sports games and the types of games that are best suited to the platform, and we'll continue to explore those."

THE VERDICT by Blake Snow Blake Snow's Avatar If this isn't a sign that PC games are dying, I don't know what is. Personally, I don't care all that much, as I've always been a console kinda guy (though I have had my fair share of awesome PC frag fests.
