Profits over gameplay: 50 Cent game gets a sequel

Despite the laughable experience of the original, Vivendi is determined to bank the 50 Cent name for a second time given its commercial viability.

As reported by MTV News, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand hopes to reinvent itself by borrowing the stop and pop fire system of Gears of War as well as the Unreal 3 graphics engine.

Since the original 50 Cent: Bulletproof was widely panned by critics, producer Aaron Blean defended the follow up by saying, "We've emphasized the gameplay quality [more] than anything this time around."

Featuring Scarface-like visuals, Blood on the Sand will include vehicle missions like helicopter take-downs and Humvee chases in addition to the standard third-person combat. The title is scheduled for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 this fall.

THE VERDICT by Blake Snow Blake Snow's Avatar I realize, respect, and appreciate that a publisher needs to make money on a game, and what better way to do that than with a recognizable rap star. Still, this is one franchise that should never have a sequel. Prove me wrong, Vivendi.
