You read right, this type of transaction is coming to Wii

There are three different articles making the rounds today that all say the same thing: microtransactions are coming to the Wii.

According to this week's issue of Famitsu, via IGN, Genki will be releasing an add-on pack for Japanese WiiWare launch puzzle title, LONPOS. There's no news yet when the extra cost content will go live, but Genki has revealed that it will charge 500 Wii Points for the pack ($5 US). IGN correctly deduces that this is half the 1000 Wii Point price of the full game.

Additionally, Siliconera discovered that for 1,000 Wii Points players can purchase additional stages for Mojipittan, which is another WiiWare launch title.

Finally, over at developer, Madden creator Scott Orr, head of developer D2C, is currently producing Spogs Racing for WiiWare, and he can't wait to start releasing "racer packs" in a "very cost effective manner."

"This allows gamers to expand their game experience with new features and enhancements at their pace in a very cost effective manner," he said. "We'll be making 'racer packs' available for Spogs Racing that will include new content such as tracks, car parts, and more."

Elsewhere in his WiiWare remarks, Orr said Nintendo's WiiWare platform "drives developers to innovate, take risks and create new IP."
