Jerry-rig Smash Bros. Brawl voice chat because Nintendo won't

Just because the game doesn't support voice chat, doesn't mean you can't.

As we near the anticipated launch of Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Sunday, Ars Technica was kind enough to remind foaming-at-the-mouth fans how they can taunt fellow online players despite Wii's lack of voice chat. In summation:

  • Use a cell phone. Though not ideal, texting and/or voice will get the job done. And also eat your minutes.
  • Conference call. Use a home, business, or online plan to conference call your buddies for as little as $.15/minute. Yeah!
  • Use an Xbox 360 open voice channel. Multisystem owners only: call your Xbox Live buddies whilst your Wii is powered on, and have at it. Take that, Nintendo!
  • Use Skype. Get a laptop, fire up Skype, and talk online for free as you pummel each other.

Whatever it takes.
