LIT scares Nintendo WiiWare with puzzles

Survival horror meets puzzle action in LIT, the recently announced WiiWare title from indie developer WayForward Technologies.

WiiWare new horror puzzle title

Horror and puzzles converge in LIT

Mix one part puzzle with one part horror and sprinkle with some bursts of light and you'll have LIT, the intriguing new title from independent developer WayForward designed for Nintendo's online WiiWare service.

In a statement from WayForward posted at GoNintendo, the developers describe LIT as a "3D horror puzzler set in a dark high school overrun by creatures."

The game follows the protagonist Jake as he makes his way through each classroom. A key gameplay mechanic appears to be "light," which Jake will utilize to create safe paths across the darkness. There's also a girl involved, Rachael, who will use the school's phones to keep in contact with Jake as he searches for a way to escape. Here's hoping that means Red Steel-style Wiimote speaker calls.

If you're having trouble remembering WayForward's past ventures in the gaming space, don't worry -- LIT is WayForward's first internally-developed property since Shantae was released by Capcom on the Game Boy Color in 2002. A smattering of portable licensed titles, including Looney Tunes Duck Amuck and Shrek, also dot their resume.

LIT currently does not have a release date or price point, and the only imagery available is the concept art displayed above.
