According to Enterbrain of Japan, Nintendo Wii widened its lead over Sony last month, outselling the PS3 by a factor of 4 to 1. In January, Wii outsold the PS3 by 3 to 1.

The boost in sales was attributed to the release of Smash Bros. Brawl on Jan. 31 and continued strong sales of Wii Fit, which impressively sold almost as many copies as Nintendo sold Wiis last month.

Expectedly, the Xbox 360 wasn't even a blip on the Japanese radar.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl arrives in North America on March 9.
