Newsbits: DJ Hero, World of Warcraft divorce, and analyst prediction accuracy

GamePro examines the quirkiest video game news from the three day holiday weekend.

On Friday, patent watch dog Trademork reported that Activision has filed with the U.S. Trademark Office to secure the name "DJ Hero," which legal documents describe as an "interactive video game comprised of a CD or DVD sold as a unit with a video game controller."

No other information was divulged, but one need only play Activision's Guitar Hero to get an idea of what to expect from the unannounced rhythm game. For hip-hop, dance, and electronic enthusiasts, the mind boggles with possibilities.

In other news, a California resident and former Blizzard employee recently divorced her husband of six years citing his addiction to World of Warcraft as reason for the breakup (via Gaming Today).

The 28 year-old woman, who never played the widely popular MMORPG, said she confronted her husband after five months of excessive play. Four months later, the couple separated, and then subsequently divorced. Irony and blame-ammo rolled into one.

Lastly, Kotaku on Monday found that the accuracy of video game analyst predictions may be as high 60 percent, at least in the case of popular analyst Michael Pachter and two of his piers. Other analysts didn't do so well, however, either because they were flat out wrong in their predictions or made generalized forecasts that couldn't be quantified.

"None of my predictions are correct, but most are close," said Pachter. "The nature of [video game analysis] is like a game of horseshoes, where close counts."
