Epic Games developer and video games conference rockstar Cliff "CliffyB" Bleszinski is tabling PC games to focus more on the lucrative console business.
CliffyB is now going steady with consoles
Epic Games, a long time developer of PC titles, is switching gears to favor console development, said Unreal designer and Gears of War creator Cliff "CliffyB" Bleszinski.
"For me, the PC is kind of the secondary part of what we're doing," Bleszinski told MTV Multiplayer. "PC is important for us, but right now making AAA games on consoles is where we're at."
But the outspoken developer didn't stop there. Bleszinski added the PC market is "in disarray" and wasn't as lucrative as console gaming.
"I think people would rather make a game that sells 4.5 million copies than a million and Gears is at 4.5 million right now on the 360," he said.
On the PC front, Bleszinski sees web-interface, social networking and MMOs taking over and keeping power for the indefinite future.
"What's driving the PC right now is Sims-type games and [World of Warcraft] and a lot of stuff that's in a web-based interface. You just click on it and play it. That''s the direction PC is evolving into," he said.
Wait, what are you trying to say Cliffy -- that there's not going to be any Sims: Locust Horde in our future?!
