Move over, Wii Fit, there's a new system seller in town as Super Smash Bros. Brawl sells one million copies in 11 days.
Nintendo's smashing success
The Japanese love being (Wii) fit, but apparently nothing compares to plopping down on the couch to give your mates a good thumping. Case in point, today Super Smash Bros. Brawl broke a Wii sales record with one millions units sold in just 11 days.
According to Reuters, the popular title unseated the previous record holder, Wii Fit, which had achieved the one million sold honor after seven weeks on the market. Wii Sports, considered by many to be a killer app for the Wii in Japan, took 11 weeks to sell one million copies (in Japan, Wii Sports is not packaged with the console as it is in the US).
Super Smash Bros. Brawl is scheduled for release in the US on March 9. European gamers, as usual, will have to wait a while longer as they are still waiting for Nintendo to solidify a date across the continent.
