Nintendo on Friday unveiled the latest in a long line of DS colors: cobalt/black.
Available on Feb. 10, the Cobalt/Black DS Lite (pictured) marks the seventh entry of fashionable (and some not so fashionable) U.S. colors which include Polar White, Coral Pink, Onyx, Crimson/Black, and the limited-edition Gold and Metallic Rose.
Since launching in November 2004, Nintendo has sold and impressive number of DS units: 65 million worldwide (including all versions). The handheld retails for $130 and was the best selling system of 2007.
Ironically it was cobalt blue (or rather indigo) that is often blamed for the limited appeal of the Nintendo GameCube, whose appearance alone screamed "don't buy me if you're older than 14."
