Call of Duty 4 named best selling game of 2007

Activision on Friday said combined sales of the multiplatform shooter totaled more than 7 million worldwide since its release last November.

"We're very excited about this achievement especially given so many competitive titles this year," said Will Kassoy, senior VP at Activision. "This ground-breaking game and franchise continue to establish new standards by which all other action games will be judged."

While Call of Duty 4 earned top multiplatform honors, Halo 3 finished as the best selling exclusive game with more than 4.8 million copies sold to Xbox 360 owners. Wii Play followed with 4.1 million copies.

THE VERDICT by Blake Snow Blake Snow's Avatar Deserving game if I do say so myself. While the whole package is realistically impressive, I have to say that "Death From Above" was my favorite level. Bombing baddies from a plain never gets old.
