Upstart website Kombo on Sunday reported that a new Kid Icarus game is in development for Wii, as a result of the renewed partnership between Nintendo and Factor 5.

"Kombo has learned from a credible source that said Wii game is in fact a new installment in Nintendo's cherished Kid Icarus franchise," says the report.
"According to sources, Factor 5's Kid Icarus title is being developed from the ground-up for Wii -- it will not use one of the developer's previous GameCube graphics engines."
Just last week, IGN revealed that Factor 5 is creating an all-new, unannounced Wii game. Factor 5 was a popular GameCube developer (e.g. the Rogue Squadron series) before a quick sting with Sony in making Lair for PS3 last fall.
Kid Icarus, released on NES in 1987, is widely regarded as one of the greatest games of all time and blends gameplay elements from three of Nintendo's biggest franchises: Zelda, Mario, and Metroid.
