Microsoft's PR minions announced the game on Friday, as previously promised for Xbox Live connection woes over the holidays.
"We've implemented several improvements to the service, to help ensure ongoing reliability and performance," said Microsoft in a statement today. "As the popularity of Xbox LIVE expands, we'll continue to closely monitor the service and make adjustments."
Undertow, which regularly sells for $10 on Live Marketplace, is one of the highest-rated and best looking XBLA games, according to Microsoft. The aquatic shooter will be free for Gold and Silver members starting next Wednesday at 2:00 a.m. PST through Sunday, 11:59 p.m. PST, as compensation for the recent Xbox Live outages.
