BioShock named AP's best game of 2007

The critically-acclaimed shooter earns the "best game" award from the world's largest news bureau.

The Associated Press called BioShock, "a thinking person's action game" and "a piece of electronic fiction with a soul."

They added, "There are many positive ways to describe this gripping game and they're all true. There's just nothing else like this eerie vision of an undersea social experiment gone horribly wrong."

The Associated Press, headquartered in New York City, is the world's largest news wire service and distributes stories to some 6,700 nation newspaper, television, and radio outlets.

BioShock (XB360, PC) is second only to The Orange Box currently as the highest rated Xbox 360 game, according to Game Rankings.

Rock Band (XB360, PS3, PS2) won the AP's "Best Game That Involves Getting off the Sofa," The Orange Box (XB360, PS2, PC) took home "Best Deal" honors, and Halo 3 (XB360) was infamously named "The Most Overrated Game of 2007," even though just last week it won TIME's best game of 2007 award.
