Target pulls Manhunt 2 from stores

Retailer says the unlockable "adult only" content of the PSP version doesn't appeal to its audience.

"Target strives to provide merchandise that will appeal to a wide variety of guests," the company said in a statement. "We also want guests to be comfortable with the purchasing decisions they make at Target."

The move comes after it was discovered and later confirmed by Rockstar Games that hidden "Adult Only" content could be unlocked on illegally modified PSPs. The Entertainment Software Rating Board said it stands by its revised "Mature" rating of Manhunt 2 because the offending content is difficult to unlock.

This isn't the first time Rockstar has hid naughty easter eggs in its video games. In 2005, hackers uncovered a hidden sex scene in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas which resulted in a revised adults only rating.

GamePro gave Manhunt 2 on Wii a 3.25 out of 5 review score.
