According to GameSpot, Sony officially announced on Tuesday that God of War III would soon be coming to PlayStation 3. No further details were provided other than the game is being developed by the same studio that worked on the first two games, Sony Santa Monica.

God of War is one of Sony's most recent successful franchises. The action-adventure series, based on Greek mythology, has been well received by both critics and gamers. A third game, God of War: Chains of Olympus, hits the PSP on March 4.
