Tony Hawk doubtful about using Wii Balance Board

Tony Hawk expressed concern in using the Wii Balance Board for future skateboarding games given the amount of change necessary to make it happen.
Would this work as a skateboard?
"I think it's possible to incorporate the Wii Fit board into one of our games," Hawk said in an interview with Eurogamer, "but it would change the control scheme dramatically, and we'd have to figure out how to make that work. So I don't know yet."
The statement comes as the venerable Tony Hawk series faces stiff competition from the highly innovate Skate made by EA which features "flick it" controls and superior physics when performing realistic tricks.

I gotta say I enjoy Skate more than Tony Hawk's Proving Ground given what I believe to be the former's superior realism and refreshing controls. That said, I'm not sure the Wii Balance Board can top the fulfillment of "flick it" ollies, kick flips, and pop shoves.
