Spore creator says game just six months out

According to Will Wright, the highly anticipated Spore for PC and DS is "roughly" six months from release.

"We have the game fully playable at this point and it's in final testing", Wright said in an interview with Radio 5 Live by way of CVG.

"We've had to do a lot of testing to make sure that the game is accessible by a wide group of people. I want the people who have played The Sims to be able to play Spore - I don't want it to be some thing just hardcore gamers play," he added.

Spore is classified as a "life simulator" game that focuses on the creation and development of a single-cell organism into the evolution of an entire species spanning multiple worlds.

Assuming Wright's estimates include planning, manufacturing, and shipping times, Spore could be available as soon as April 2008.
