Today's megaton Smash Bros. Brawl announcement from Nintendo is not a positive one for fans of the series.
At an Americanized Nintendo media summit in San Francisco, Nintendo of America video president of marketing George Harrison confirmed that the U.S. version of Smash Bros. Brawl will be delayed until February 10, 2008...a Sunday.
The delay comes on the heels of a similar summit held in Japan a day earlier, where Nintendo president Satoru Iwata told members of the press that Smash Bros. Brawl would launch in that region on January 24.
The loss of Brawl will leave a rather large hole in Nintendo's holiday lineup, but the move could allow franchise favorite Super Mario Galaxy to enjoy more sales and better exposure going into December.
Still, the news stings, and many Smash Bros. fans surely feel like they're at or around 500% damage right now. Don't get tossed!
