Wii still overwhelming PS3 sales worldwide

The plucky Wii outsold the shiny PS3 by a factor of 4 to 1 over the last six months said Japanese mag publisher Enterbrain on Monday.

According to the report, Wii topped total PS3 sales by more than four to one in Japan from April 1 through Sept. 23. Nintendo sold approximately 1.6 million Wiis compared with 385,000 Sony PS3s for the period.

In comparison, the Wii outsold the PS3 by a factor of three to one in North America over the last six months (Feb-Aug).

"Sony's PS3 suffered a slow start since its launch last November due to its high price and scarcity of strong software titles," reports Reuters.

THE VERDICT by Blake Snow Blake Snow's Avatar Is this Wii "winning" more than the PS3 is "losing," or is the incumbent's fall from grace a combination of the two?
