Epic: Unreal Tournament 3 may get delayed this fall

Epic President Mark Rein raised suspicions last week by a statement made on the company's website that Unreal Tournament 3 may get delayed for PS3 and PC.

"We do not know exactly when the game will be completed," Rein said in a note to gamers on the company's website last week.

"All we've said is that we're hoping for a November release, but as you know, we value getting it right over getting it right now so there's no guarantee of that."

The statement comes as anticipation builds for the game's now tentative November release date on PS3, PC this fall. The game is also expected to land on Xbox 360 in early 2008.

The 2007 holiday season has become crowded with a large number of highly anticipated games, the most since 2004, as newer generation systems begin to hit their stride.
